Danielli's Spa

It's been my sixth visit to Danielli's Spa with Mr. DQ. Read along to know more about my Danielli Spa review. Our first time became a treasure hunt because we missed the place since all of the other establishments in the same building were already closed by night. We took a long u-turn along E. Rodriguez Ave. If not for the giant tarpaulin found at the building’s top floor, we might have ended going somewhere else. I am still mindful of the spiral steps upwards the outdoor stairs to 3rd floor after 6 visits, but it never lessened my anticipation for a massage. We usually chose whole body common massage for 1.5 hours since we felt that 1 hour is too hasty or "bitin". You may request for your "suki" but we tend to keep our mind and options open. The staff never oversells by insisting other types of services, even on our first time. For me, this implies the ability of their services to stand alone on its own.

We always come by Danielli's Spa at around 10-12 in the evening, after pigging out or after swimming workout. I only experienced being in the common room with another guest once, since they always give me an instant upgrade to executive or solo room. Mr. DQ says that it's never the case for him; he's always in the common room alongside with other men. I could only conclude that male customers are more frequent than female, mind the time also. I'll try to come in earlier next time but it's much more relaxing to snooze off right after. A little warning for those who are uncomfortable in being publicly naked: Common room is composed of about 8 massage beds under dim light and no curtains in between; you can always opt for executive or solo room.

There is a waiting area, which looks like a living room with big sofas and arm chairs. Hints of the owner's collectibles like paintings and figurines of different sizes have given me an impression of a previously owned Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired home. Typical spa music was played all through the area. I usually take a hot shower, never used the sauna though since I am too excited for my massage and I couldn't wait any longer. Lockers with clothes hanger are inclusive as well.

The massage:

As per my Danielli's Spa review for the massage experience, I can say that therapists have been mindful about my scoliosis. Most of them do not ask about my condition, but they lessen the stroke on the affected area. I appreciate their consideration and repeatedly asked me if they need to lessen the strokes. I don't mind being only in my underpants and a robe since only the massaged area is exposed, while other parts are tucked in under a sheet of towel that includes the toes. I really love being blanketed since I am about 5'6" and is always cold. I specially love Danielli's hot bean bag that are placed at the lower back then moved towards buttocks area while massage is ongoing.

The massage includes chest strokes, but therapists will ask you if you are okay to go through with this since some people do not like to be chest and stomach area to be massaged. It's a good thing that Danielli's Spa use shiatsu and swedish massage techniques since my doctor advised me to avoid Thai massages for clinical reasons. I usually stay awake so that I can fully appreciate every stroke, especially the kneading of spasms in the shoulder area – How I drool about this in the office after a hard day’s work. I melted to deep slumber thrice when the therapist started with my head massage. I had one weird session though, it was when we opted for an hour massage and it felt like she was pulling my hair in every stroke. I had a very proactive therapist one time, who found spasms in my left and right thighs where no one ever did. I jolted with a bit of pain but it was endurable as we got by.

The oil doesn't have a heavy feeling on my skin after the massage. I don't care about the smell of the oil, but I do not like how my hair becomes limp right after. The massage comes with a free hot ginger tea that reminds me of the local salabat; it soothes my cold-o-phobic hands and feet.

Mr. DQ and I availed Danielli's Spa membership card after our 3rd visit, which is good until September 2013. I'll update you when we avail our free massage. There are also 2 "allow a friend" boxes, which allows you to count your friend's massage to your total number of visits. It’s never too crowded in the evening; I’m not sure during the day. We haven’t tried out the food and other services, but I’m eyeing on the manicure and pedicure.

Common Massage Price is P380 per hr, P530 per 1.5hr

Tip: P50-100 to be inserted in little brown envelopes

Location: 3rd Floor, 187 E. Rodriguez Jr., Quezon City. Opposite side of Eastwood City. (Look up and search for giant tarpaulin on top of the building establishment and go by the right most staircases facing the building).

Likes:
Hot bean bag for lower back and "batok"
Homey Ambience
Hot Shower
Ginger tea

Dislikes:
Hair is limp from oil after massage.
It's nice that therapists keep their hands clean before massaging your face, but the alcohol scent is disturbing unless you are asleep the whole time.
Sauna is never readily available for use, customers need to wait for 30 mins before it's ready to be used for about 30 mins or less.
Need for appointment on weekdays.

    1. Hi, Thanks for reading my blog. Communal shower was inclusive when you book for a massage. Sauna was also inclusive but they usually did not turn it on. I have not tried telling them in advance to get the sauna ready since I don't need it. What happened before was that they would ask me if I wanted them to turn it on after I took my shower. If I did, I need to wait before I can use it.

I wrote this 2 years ago, their common massage price was P380 per hr, P530 per 1.5hr. I have no idea how much they charge nowadays. I believe you can call them at 635-6875, also check out their facebook site:
